AI agent best practices
Last reviewed:
Short answer
Start with one job, e.g. pricing questions in “Only specific topics” mode, give the agent short facts and real example replies, test with the questions you actually get, and read the handed-over chats once a week to fill the gaps in its knowledge.
Setup
- 1 Start narrow
Use “Only specific topics” with two or three topics first. Switch to “Every DM” once the answers are good.
- 2 Facts, not prose
One fact per line, with numbers: prices, times, conditions. Remove outdated lines right away.
- 3 Real examples
Use “Learn from my past replies” and keep only replies that sound like you at your best.
- 4 One goal
One clear next step, with the matching link, works better than five.
Testing
- Ask the test chat your 10 most common questions.
- Try a complaint, e.g. “I want a refund!”, and check it hands over.
- Write in German and English and check the language follows.
- Ask something that isn’t in the knowledge base; it should not guess.
Running it
- Read the chats under “Waiting for you” weekly; every repeated question belongs in the knowledge base.
- Put friends, partners and VIPs in an excluded folder.
- Keep an eye on the AI replies counter on the agent page.
