Revenue from DMs: Shopify and Stripe
Last reviewed:
Links that DMowl sends carry a reference. When the order comes in through a webhook from Shopify or Stripe, DMowl matches it to the automation or campaign that sent the link and shows the revenue on your dashboard and in the monthly report.
How it works
- Every link step becomes a tracked link (dmowl.com/r/…). It forwards to your page and adds the reference.
- Stripe Payment Links (buy.stripe.com) get it as client_reference_id; every other URL gets a dmo parameter, which Shopify keeps with the order.
- Only orders that came through a DMowl link are counted, net of tax and shipping. Webhook retries don’t count twice.
Shopify
- 1 Copy your URL
DMowl → Integrations → Revenue attribution → Shopify.
- 2 Create the webhook
Shopify admin → Settings → Notifications → Webhooks → Create webhook. Event “Order creation”, format JSON, paste the URL.
- 3 Send product links
Use your shop links in link steps as usual.
Stripe Payment Links
- 1 Use a Payment Link
Put a buy.stripe.com link in the link step.
- 2 Add the endpoint
Stripe → Developers → Webhooks → Add endpoint with the URL from DMowl → Integrations, event checkout.session.completed.
Other shops and booking tools
Report orders with the record_conversion tool through the REST API or MCP, passing the dmo value from the landing URL.
Calendly, Cal.com and similar tools work as plain link steps: clicks are tracked and reported (link.clicked), bookings are not.

Is the webhook URL secret?
Yes, the token in it identifies your account. Don’t share it; if it leaks, write to us and we’ll issue a new one.
