Campaign reaches fewer people

Last reviewed:

Short answer

Campaigns only go to contacts who wrote to you in the last 24 hours — that is Instagram’s rule, not a DMowl setting. The audience count in the campaign editor already shows how many people are reachable right now.

Who is left out

  • Contacts outside the 24-hour window — the largest group by far.
  • Contacts who opted out (STOP, unsubscribe, abmelden).
  • For a folder audience: everyone not in that folder. Without a chosen folder, nobody is sent to.
  • For the followers audience: contacts DMowl hasn’t confirmed as followers yet.
  • Contacts above your plan’s active contact limit, if it is reached during sending.

How to reach more people

Send campaigns shortly after something that makes people write to you: a story with a question sticker, a comment-to-DM post or a live. Everyone who replies is reachable for 24 hours.

On Free you can send 3 campaigns per month; Plus has no campaign limit.

Can I schedule a campaign?

Yes. Keep in mind the audience is counted at the time of sending, so it may be different from what you saw when you scheduled it.
