Connect Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI and Claude Code to Instagram

Every major AI coding agent speaks MCP, so one server URL covers them all: https://dmowl.com/mcp. Add it to your editor’s MCP config, sign in once with OAuth, and the agent can read and manage your Instagram automations, contacts and campaigns while it codes.

One server, every editor

Instagram’s Graph API needs an app review, webhooks, token handling and the 24-hour messaging rule before you send your first DM. DMowl does all of that and exposes the result as MCP tools, so your coding agent can work with Instagram the same way it works with files.

Editors change their menus often. If a sign-in button is missing, update the editor, or send an API key as Authorization: Bearer header instead.

What developers build with it

  • A “comment to get the code” funnel for a product launch, created from the same repo as the landing page.
  • A sync job that copies Instagram leads with email into Postgres, Airtable or a CRM, using the REST API the agent just explored.
  • A webhook receiver for link clicks and orders, with the HMAC signature check written and tested by the agent.
  • Internal dashboards that show DM performance next to sales.

Good to know

  • Rate limit: 120 requests per minute per connection; the Free plan includes a daily number of API calls.
  • Automations are created as drafts and tools that message people are marked destructive, so agents ask before sending.

Do I need a Meta developer app?

No. DMowl is the Meta app; you only connect your Instagram professional account to DMowl.

Does Windsurf or another editor work too?

Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP works. Use the URL with OAuth, or an API key as bearer token if the client has no OAuth support.

Can I keep the config in my repo?

Yes, with OAuth the config contains only the URL. If you use an API key, load it from an environment variable or the editor’s secret input, never commit it.
